14th March M. Up early and 'at em'. Got the washing machine going. Had my breakfast. An odd feature was that I watched Chinese news as I ate my toast and coffee. And a map of Australia appeared. Then obviously a riot. So I changed to a local channel - to find out that there had actually been a race riot in Melbourne.
NOMAs of course ( IE men of no appearance).
The police commissioner said the police did well by not being provoked by the rioters. I.E. they were few in number and did very little.
Shopping day today so the list is readied. But Morwell was oddly quiet as  drove to Woolworths. It is Labour day but is it usually as observed as this ?
There was a surprising number of men with children at foot going round Woolworths. The ones with three plus children had that blank look  that such fathers have. Used to be called 'the thousand yard stare'.
Home, unload ,put away.
Have coffee and custard tart.
Nap.
Lunch a ham,. tomato and lettuce sandwich for Vad . I had a chicken parmegan micro for me.
Bright idea! I search around and actually find the house we were in when first married in Glen Forrest W.A.
Amazing! Outside it has not changed much. We were there circa 1965.
I tried out the new electric chain saw. I had to use a mile long cable of course. but it worked like a dream.   Cut through branches like a knife  through butter. Mark you my legs ached a lot as there  was much squatting and getting at odd angles to get where I needed. Still worth it. The  sapling is now in bits. Some more of this and I will order a skip.
Bring in the dried washing and give mince to grey cat who was watching.
Dinner was traditional Vad style fish, chips and salad. OK. And filling.
To my surprise frozen flattie tails have reappeared in Woolworths.
We watch 'Egg Heads' and I wash up etc.
