27th Jan W. At first I thought I was having a funny turn. I was lying there in bed and there was bright flashes behind my closed eyelids. But then the thunder came followed by the rain.
Time to get up.
No sign of the newspaper that should have been delivered to our front drive.
And it still rained. I finally guessed. By sort of squatting down I could see a shadow under the car. When I waved my stick around .and  out came the newspaper all wrapped in the usual plastic.
So I had my breakfast and did both crosswords before Vad was up.
The wind has not blown the wheelie bins over thankfully.
Quite a few of the blogs I read think that there should be no 'Australian of the year. Well it always leads to PC righteousness.
No middle class ever win it.
Lunch   was very thick soup for me and roast chicken soup for Vad plus an apple pie.
The sun has come out. I look in the letter box – nothing - and then bring in the empty wheelie bins. I can feel the sun warming on my back.
The radio says that they spend 38 billion dollars a year on the aboriginals !
Government departments etc etc.
Doesn't seem to do much good.
We both had a micro meal for dinner.
A niece of Vad's rang up for a chat later.
Not heard anything from the children for a good while.
